If you’re new to website building, here’s the checklist ( I assume that you’ve already chose the theme for your site) and done your homework ( doing keyword research ).

- On-page SEO Error Checking : Scan through your pages for on-page SEO errors, and solutions on how to fix them.
- Competitor Analysis : Take a look at your competitor to see their best backlink source, so you can go there and grab some.
As I said, Traffic Travis 4.1 has three options for you : Free, Trial and Full.

b. Rankings : check the rank of your targeted keywords with the three biggest search engines in the world : Google, Yahoo and Bing
c. Competitors : List 10 websites appearing at page 1 when you search
d. Backlinks : Remember the Competitors part, now you can copy the URL of your competitor’s site, paste it here, and look at the backlink source.

OK, let’s begin

Go to Research -> Keywords and type your “seed” keywords into the field
Go to Advanced Settings ( below the “Fetch” button ), there you can choose your preferred country, language and your search type. I recommend you to choose “Exact” in Keyword Match Type for the best result.
Now,choose the number of results you want to display, then press “Fetch”
Traffic Travis will fetch data from Google Keyword Planner and show you the result in seconds.
Global Count : Number of global monthly searches
US Count : Number of monthly searches from USA ( based on your settings )
Competition : Traffic Travis shows you how competitive this keyword is for PPC
SERPs : total number of search results from search engines .
Based on this information, you will know how to pick the most suitable keyword for your site.

This feature allows you to look for available domain for your site. Traffic Travis shows 3 extensions : .COM, .NET,.ORG because they’re the most popular for website.
The green tick shows you which extensions are available to take. The drop down list gives you some merchants to purchase the domain.

2. Add website to Traffic Travis
In order to check your site, you must add it to Traffic Travis.
Your site’s status is displayed in “Dashboard” tab.
Now, go to Projects - > Add new Project.
Project Name : Name of your site
Site URL : including the http
Sitemap : the url of sitemap is often : www.yourwebsiteurl.com/sitemap.xml
Keywords : list of keywords which you want to check rankings, put them there.
Search Engines : you can add one or more search engines to do the keyword checking. If you do local SEO, or want to rank your site in a country, choose your preferred search engines. Normally I’ll pick Google USA, Bing USA and Yahoo USA.
For the rest, just leave them as default. Now we click “Save Project”
For Free version, you can add a total of 5 projects ( 5 sites ) to Traffic Travis.
Finally, the project is appeared in the Dashboard tab, and you can visit it daily to see if there’s anything happens to your site's rank.
Traffic Travis will show you your top ranked keywords, your top 5 backlinks and more. Use that to optimize the site for better results.

You can see in this example : My page has 3 warnings which could effect the SEO quality. Following the explanation, I could solve the warning easily.
OK, now we move to the most interesting tab of Traffic Travis : SEO

I love this tool. You input the targeted keyword here and see how easy it is to rank. Traffic Travis uses its own methods of determining whether a keyword is “Relatively Easy” or “Difficult” to rank.
You can also see top 10 sites in Page 1 of search engine using that keyword. So, if you’re in 5th position, for example, you know that your top 4 competitors are, and use the Backlinks tool to analyze the page.
